I love coconut cream pie! Not just the coconut, or the meringue, or the crust, but all those combined, makes my mouth water just writing about them. My grandma has made a coconut cream pie for special occasions all of my life. Those special occasions, and the Holidays, aren’t the same if there isn’t a coconut cream pie on the table. Big R’s coconut cream pie rivals grandma’s (and that’s saying something). My favorite part of this pie though is the crust. I’ve watched my grandma make her crust by hand, and all the work that goes into it (there’s a lot) and I think the hard work and care is what makes it special. The crust in Big R’s pie is almost exactly like grandma’s. You can tell they put a lot of work into making the whole pie from scratch. It brings back the nostalgic times at the dinner table with friends and family. I’m so looking forward to getting a couple for Thanksgiving…ordering today!
